Unfortunately there is no pin marking on the motherboard of the split system. Of the lettering, only “Wi-Fi CN8”, which didn’t help much.

In my case, the Wi-Fi module manufacturer has 5 pins. For UART, four is usually enough: TX, RX, GND and power. For RS-485 you don’t need much either: A, B, GND and power. Because of this, I initially thought that in my case, the interface is some kind of exotic.

There are two main ways of connection of the conditioner to the network

External adapter is used if the air conditioner does not have a built-in. It is installed not far from the split-system. The adapter needs a connection to a power supply.

It becomes a bridge between the air conditioner (connects via IR port) and the router (Wi-Fi pairing). From Wi-Fi the data go to the Internet to the remote server.
