How to turn off the sound on the Samsung microwave

Don’t make it squeak

This entry is for the very, very beginners, who might be very interested to read here how others were able to make a counter electron-positron beam gas pedal from two women’s magazines, a grandfather clock and blue duct tape, but are not yet ready for it themselves. Like hands grow from the right place, but somehow it did not work to catch fire with the idea, and then to realize it. But it would be desirable to begin with something.

Today we are going to defeat the microwave (coffee maker, steam cooker etc.), the device that usually squeaks at every trifle event, although it does no good (with rare exception, who simply do not need this note). And don’t let it beep!

Marketers, trying to increase sales of very similar products, have achieved that in our apartments, almost all devices flashing LEDs. But this is easily defeated by a dark marker or duct tape. What to do with useless squeakers? Make them quiet or turn them off altogether!

  • Unplug it (and don’t forget to take out the disk that usually spins everything so it doesn’t break when you turn it over),
  • Let’s remember that even though the device is unplugged, but in theory it can electrocute (just in case there is some charge left), so let’s agree in advance not to touch all the insides with our fingers,
  • carefully unscrew the self-tapping screws that hold the lid on,
  • Having removed the lid we will see what is inside.
  • add a resistor in series with the speaker (people who know how to do this, probably did not read to this line),
  • make the noise quieter by squeezing the speaker diaphragm with something (some people put a piece of absorbent cotton inside, some put the same blue tape, some put foam around to muffle the sound),
  • Get rid of sounds at all (disconnect one of the speaker pins),
  • put the device back together, forgetting about home comfort forever.

With tweezers we lift one of the contacts going to the speaker (it struggled a few 5 seconds, then came off), put any insulator under it (the piece of paper on the photo), close the device with a lid, carefully screw self-tapping screws into the old jacks. That’s it, now the device works as before, but it doesn’t beep.

If suddenly you need to restore that useful function of “waking up the baby who fell asleep in the next room,” the insulator can always be removed. It all took ten minutes, seven of which I scrubbed the lid of greasy kitchen dust.

Now you know you can make all those squeaky steamers and coffee makers quiet. But who else needs to tear off a speaker?? That’s right, a home uninterruptible power supply! Really, if I’m at home, I notice the power failure without its annoying squeak, and if I’m not at home, why annoy the neighbors, who not only suddenly lost power, but also from somewhere else makes a nasty squeak?

If you liked this beginning for the very-so-beginners of making things with their hands, then in the next post I will show you how to make a “laptop phone charger” from a broken phone charger and an unwanted USB cable.

What to do

If the high voltage transformer is malfunctioning, you need to run diagnostics. When the magnetron breaks, you have to replace it with a new one.

If there is a problem with the high voltage capacitor, it will be checked. If you change the mechanism that is not working, the microwave will work again.

If there is dirt, food behind the tray, the microwave should be cleaned.

For proper operation of the microwave oven after purchase, it is worth carefully studying the enclosed instructions, clearly adhere to the recommendations. Only then you can enjoy the benefits of the device for a long time.

Checking the operation of the main elements

To find out why the microwave oven began to hum, it is necessary to check all major parts and assemblies of the product. First unplug the appliance, then pull out the manual and open the parts layout diagram to find out exactly where they are located.

Fuse

The first thing to do is to check the condition of this little guard of the electrical circuit from various nuances. Open the protection container and inspect the filament, if it has burned out, then the device must be replaced. Buy only a similar product with the same parameters. Don’t put bugs in it. it’s a fire hazard.

Condenser

If when starting the microwave oven emits uncharacteristic sounds, it is this element that is punctured. To check it accurately, you need to connect an ohmmeter: the arrow deflects. everything is fine, the device is silent. you need to replace.

The capacitor must be discharged before testing, do not touch it under any circumstances!

There is a small part in the high voltage circuit that is easier to replace than to test. You can check if it works well. a capacitor with a good diode is not heated. Microwave oven hum at start-up and blown fuse are considered signs of a broken diode.

Magnetron

This main unit of the microwave generates a high-frequency electric field inside the oven, which is what heats the food. If there is a problem with a magnetron there is an unusual humming noise when the microwave oven is operating but the food is not getting warm.

Inspect the magnetron for fouling or cracks, replace it with a new one that has the same specifications.

Precautions, Important Safety Instructions, Important

Important Safety Instructions.

Read carefully and retain for future reference.

Before cooking foods or liquids in your microwave Make sure that the following precautions are followed.

DO NOT use any metal utensils in the microwave:

Tableware with gold or silver finishes

Electric arcing or sparks can occur and damage the oven.

Bottles, jars, and vessels in hermetically sealed or vacuum-packed containers. For example) Baby food in jars.

Foods with airtight peels or shells.E.g.) Eggs, nuts in their shells, tomatoes.

An increase in pressure can cause them to explode.

Take off the lids and pierce the peels, packets, and so on.

DO NOT turn on the microwave oven when it is empty.Reason:

Keep a glass of water in the oven all the time.Water will absorb microwaves if you accidentally turn on the oven when it is empty.

DO NOT cover the back vents with cloth or paper.Reason:

Cloth or paper can catch fire from contact with hot air,

ALWAYS use thick gloves when removing dishes from the oven.Reason:

DO NOT touch the heating elements or the oven interior.Reason:

These walls may be hot enough to cause a burn even after the cooking process is complete, although it may not be noticeable by their appearance. Do not allow any flammable materials to come in contact with any of the interior surfaces of the oven. Allow the oven to cool first.

To reduce the possibility of fire in the oven chamber:

Do not store flammable materials inside the oven

turn, sound, samsung, microwave

Remove twisted wire ties from paper or plastic bags

Do not use your microwave oven to dry newspapers

If you notice smoke, do not open the oven door, but turn off the oven or disconnect from

Be especially careful when heating liquids and baby food.

ALWAYS allow at least 20 seconds of rest time after the oven is turned off to allow the temperature to equalize throughout.

Stir while heating as needed and ALWAYS after heating.

Handle the vessel carefully after heating. If the vessel is too hot, you could burn yourself.

There is a danger of sudden boiling of the liquid.

To prevent a delayed boil and possible burns, you should put a plastic spoon or glass rod into the drink and stir it before, during, and after heating.Reason:

When heating liquids in the microwave, overheating can occur and delay boiling; this means that a sudden rapid boil can occur after you remove the container from the oven. You can get burned as a result.

If burned, follow these FIRST HELP instructions:

Immerse the burned area in cold water for at least 10 minutes.

Cover the burned area with a clean, dry bandage.

Do not apply any creams, oils, or lotions to burned skin.

NEVER fill the container to the brim and choose a container that is wider at the top than the base to prevent the liquid from spilling out when boiling. Narrow-necked bottles may also explode if overheated.

ALWAYS check the temperature of baby food or milk before you start feeding your baby.

NEVER heat a baby bottle with a nipple on it, since the bottle can explode if overheated.

Be careful not to damage the power cord.

Do not allow water to get on the power cord or plug and keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.

Never use this oven if the power cord or plug is damaged.

Stand at arm’s length away from the oven when opening the door.

Hot air or steam released may cause burns.

Keep the oven interior clean.

Food particles or fat splattered on the sides or bottom of the oven may damage the coating and impair the oven’s performance.

While the microwave oven is operating, especially in defrosting mode, you may hear a

You may hear this sound when the output power is automatically changed. This is a normal phenomenon.

When the microwave oven is operating without any load, in order to ensure

The oven will automatically switch off the power supply when it is in an emergency situation. After 30 minutes, you should be able to use the oven again normally.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

If food is heated or cooked in disposable utensils made of plastic, paper or other flammable materials, you should occasionally

You should NEVER allow small children to use or play with the microwave oven. They should also not be left unattended near the microwave oven while it is in use. Items of interest to children should not be stored or hidden directly above the oven.

WARNINGIf the door or door seals are damaged, the oven should not be used

Before it is repaired by a professional.

It is dangerous for non-specialists to service or make repairs that involve removing the cover that protects against microwave energy.

Liquids and other food should not be heated in tightly closed containers

Children may use the oven without adult supervision only if properly instructed so that the child knows how to use the oven safely and understands the dangers of misuse.

How to mute your Samsung microwave

While your microwave oven is running, it’s okay if it makes a quiet humming or buzzing sound. It happens for several reasons, but most often it’s due to the vibrations of the magnetron (when the microwave heats up), the operation of the ventilation fan, or both.

In most cases, a long press of the Cancel or 0 button gives you access to sound programming, with which you can adjust sound settings and turn off the microwave. Whichever way you do it, switching your microwave to silent mode can make it quieter.

How to turn off the sound when you dial or text on your Samsung

Modern smartphones do not have a keyboard in the “classic” sense. now it is a virtual keyboard, where the buttons are “drawn” on the screen of the smartphone. Therefore, phone owners no longer have a tactile sensation when “pressing” such keys.

In order to “feel” the pressure on the virtual button when dialing a phone number or text, the manufacturers of smartphones have provided a phone response in the form of sound or vibration. People are all different and sensitivity to the unexpected pulse of the phone or to its sounds can cause completely unexpected reactions. Many people are simply frightened by a sharp sound or an unexpected vibration of the smartphone.

Another situation: you’re driving on public transport and trying to exchange messages in a messenger, the sound of the virtual keyboard when you type your answer is sure to attract attention to you, causing curiosity, and maybe even irritation to those around you.

Low voltage in the network. less than 220 V. Даже небольшое отклонение (в 20 В) может влиять на работоспособность СВЧ печи, в том числе и возможность нагрева. As a result, the plate may be hot, but the food in the center is cold. The microwave oven does not heat the food very well as a result of incomplete closing.

Spots are caused by oil particles that react with the cooling air. 3. When the microwave / compact oven function is on, the food heats up very quickly. The process produces different amounts of condensation, depending on the type of food being heated and the set temperature.

Complicated breakdowns

If the microwave oven beeps when you turn it on, but heats the food very weakly in any mode, then one of the following malfunctions has occurred:

  • The control unit or timer has malfunctioned.
  • Transformer burned out.
  • If it is an Inverter, the Core Module may be defective.
  • Broken diode through which current flows.
  • Capacitors have lost the moisture needed to operate the device.
  • Magnetron failed.
