How a refrigerator works

How does the refrigerator work?

Then from the evaporator, the gaseous refrigerant is sucked by the compressor through the inlet valve, compressed by the piston, its temperature increases and it is pushed into the condenser under high pressure.

The condenser we all know is the coil on the back of the refrigerator. As the refrigerant vapour passes through the condenser, it gives off its heat into the surrounding space through the condenser tubes. The refrigerant is cooled and becomes a liquid.

Then the liquid refrigerant is pushed to the pressure reducing valve. Passing through this valve, the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant decreases and it enters the evaporator again. Then the cycle repeats all over again.
