Classification of AC error codes

Fault codes of air conditioners are classified according to the conventional system of combining symbols and consist of 2-3 or more signs. They can be only figures or Latin letters, and also a combination of letters and 1-2 figures.

Deciphering of error codes of Haier air conditioner

Haer air conditioners are equipped with self-diagnosis system and in case of malfunction they display the following codes. The most common faults are as follows:

  • E0. problems with condensate drainage in the system;
  • E1. pressure increase in the compressor;
  • E2. The heat exchanger of the indoor unit is icing up;
  • E3. compressor pressure too low;
  • E4. compressor overheating;
  • E5. Complete compressor shutdown due to overloading;
  • E6. no connection between outdoor and indoor units;
  • E7. room module does not respond to commands from the control panel;
  • E8. indoor unit motor is overloaded.

Also, fault codes with the letter F may illuminate on the Haer air conditioner display:

  • F0. failure of room sensor;
  • F1 and F2. disconnection of indoor and outdoor unit heat exchanger sensors respectively;
  • F3. outdoor temperature sensor failure;
  • F4. disabling the thermosensor on the air supply;
  • FF. power outages.

If the Haer air conditioner blinks 6 times when the error occurs, it may indicate an F11 malfunction. It appears when the voltage in the network does not meet the standard values.

What does FE error mean on Haier air conditioner

Users of Haer air conditioners often encounter the error FE. According to the information from the manufacturer, this malfunction is deciphered as Freon Error, or Freon leak.

If there is a lack of refrigerant, the split system may be in working order, but it constantly restarts. In addition, the unit is usually not able to perform its direct functions and instead of cooling air only moves it around the room in the fan mode.

Preventive measures

Correct preventive measures can help to prevent E 6 code in the split system. When using air conditioning equipment is necessary:

  • Vacuuming and washing of the filters of the indoor unit once a month, and better every two weeks;
  • Twice a year, in spring and fall, disassemble the room module and remove contaminants from the fan and radiator;
  • Regularly drain any residual condensate from the drain pan and clean the entire drainage system with disinfectants;
  • at least once a year, clean the front module yourself or call in professionals for this purpose, especially if the unit is located at the fifth floor level or below.

It is recommended once in 2-3 years to call in service for refilling of splitsystem with freon. Over time, it is inevitable that the refrigerant will evaporate, even if the unit is in full working order. Freon escapes at an accelerated rate if inter-unit tubing connections are loosened. When losses reach 20-30% of the total, the lack of refrigerant begins to have a noticeable effect on system operation and can cause E 6 failure.
