The fan of the Datsun on-Do does not turn off

Datsun on-Do, me-Do. the cooling fan does not work (does not turn on). The reason

Problems with the cooling fan, as a rule, occur in used cars with decent mileage. This defect manifests itself in different ways, the fan can be unstable, run late, or not turn on at all.

There can be many reasons why the fan doesn’t turn on, from the banal blown fuse to more complicated problems related to thermostat malfunction or problems with wiring the car’s onboard network.

If the engine is boiling, but the fan still does not turn on, the first thing that comes to mind for most motorists. problems with the wiring fan. But very often the wiring isn’t at fault and the true reason lies exactly in the thermostat. The device that controls the temperature of the coolant can fail or simply jam, and the coolant stops circulating through the radiator, so the radiator sensor does not work, and the fan does not turn on.

Then check the fuse that is responsible for the fan, if the fuse blown replace it with a whole. If the cause is not the fuse, you must check the fan itself. Power wires are connected to it, not uncommonly they just splinter or break off because of the age. Alternatively the cause may lie in the plug, so if the wiring is OK, unplug the fan and check the plug for malfunction. connect power to the fan directly, eg from the battery, if the fan does not react at all we can conclude that the fan is defective.

Check the sensor that turns on the fan (VHF), located on the radiator. To do this you must disconnect the plugs and then connect them to each other, if the fan does not work. DVV is faulty and needs to be replaced. It is necessary to connect the wire which goes to a block of fuses, directly to a mass (as a rule, white color with a black strip). If the fan then runs, you can conclude that there is a break in the second black wire, try to find the break, and check if it is firmly connected to the ground. After that, connect the two wires together, and see what happens, if the fan turns on the problem was in a bad connection.

Check the fan relay, it may be the problem. In order to find out it is enough to just replace it with the next relay, then connect the wires of the radiator sensor with each other, see. above. The fan will turn on. the problem is a faulty relay.

Next you need to check the voltage whether it comes to the fan through the fuse box. To do this, take a piece of wire and install it in the sockets of the relay, if the fan worked, the reason why the fan does not work in the fuse box. It is likely that the voltage is not coming to the fan relay. To check this, you can use the “grandfather’s” way. Take a light bulb, which will serve as a “control”. If there is no light bulb, it is enough to just lightly poke the other end of the wire on the ground, if you see a spark, there should be no problem, most likely this is not the cause. If you do not see a spark, most likely there is no voltage in this connector, that is, there is a breakage of the track in the fuse box. If you find the reason why the radiator fan does not turn on, there is only one wire left to check. the wire of radiator sensor. To do this, you need to remove the switch, because it does not allow to get to the plugs of the fuse block. So, remove the plug from the fuse box, and check the radiator sensor wire for a breakage. We check as follows: connect wire to “” terminal of battery, connect the second end to the connector of the chip. Next, remove the plug from the sensor and connect the light bulb. If there’s no light, make a “tap” on the ground. If there is no voltage, this wire is probably broken. If the fan does not turn on, the reason can be unexpected, for example. the gasket under the cylinder head is rusted. Switching on does not occur for the reason that the coolant does not flow into the cylinder, and the gases from the cylinder penetrate into the coolant, thus creating the effect known as an air lock. This plug prevents the coolant from pumping properly. How to tell if you have a burnout? It is enough to have a look in the expansion tank, if during the operation there are bubbles coming out of it now and then. you have a burned gasket, or there is a crack in the cylinder.

WHAT TO DO IF THE RADIATOR FAN DOES NOT WORK

To make sure the radiator fan is out of order and not working is quite simple. To do this, start the car engine and let it idle for a while. When the dashboard will show that the coolant temperature is approaching the critical zone, the sensor will inform the radiator fan so that it will start working. At that moment the driver hears an additional noise from under the hood, and opening it, he sees that near the radiator the fan impeller is spinning. If the temperature of the coolant has reached a critical value, and the radiator cooling fan does not think to turn on, you need to find out why this happens. You can identify the following main reasons why the radiator cooling fan does not work: Problems with the electric motor. If the electric motor is out of order, its rotor will not rotate, respectively, the impeller will not rotate. It is possible to check the electric motor efficiency, if you connect it directly to the battery. To do this you need to take two wires, connect them to the two terminals of the battery and the two leads of the electric motor. If the fan when directly connected “to the battery” does not spin, you can conclude that you need to replace the motor; Problems with the sensor. If the sensor can not sense the temperature of the coolant and transmit a signal to turn the motor on, it will need to be replaced. To see if it does not work, you need to disconnect two wires from it and short-circuit between them. If the electric motor begins to spin the impeller, it indicates that the sensor is defective and must be replaced. The third and the most common cause of idle radiator cooling fan is lack of voltage in its power supply circuit. If there is a break in the wires or a fuse has blown, the circuit will be de-energized. To be sure in the presence of this problem you need to “run” the wires and check the fuses. If the radiator cooling fan does not turn on, finding the cause of the malfunction is quite simple, just perform the above checks.

THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN DOES NOT WORK: HOW TO USE THE CAR

If the radiator cooling fan has failed, it is better to immediately find out what the cause and fix the problem. But the problem may arise suddenly, and the driver should know the basic rules of how to drive a car with a disabled fan, so that there is no overheating of the engine: Try to turn on the forced operation of the fan from the battery; If the fan does not work forcibly, move at a constant speed of about 60 kilometers per hour or higher, so that the counter flow of air cools the liquid on the radiator without the help of the fan. It is also recommended to turn on the heating system in the car interior, so that some of the heat from the coolant escapes in the cabin. Do not forget that if the coolant overheats, it is better to stop and wait for some time to cool down than to continue driving the car with the risk of overheating the engine.

What to do if the radiator cooling fan runs constantly

Another problem that can occur with the radiator cooling fan is its constant operation. If the electric motor does not turn off or turns on too early, when the temperature of the coolant is far from the critical zone, you need to determine the cause of this malfunction and eliminate it.

The operation of the radiator cooling fan without stopping may be due to the following problems:

datsun, on-do, does, turn
    “Stuck relay contacts. If the relay contacts are fixed in the “On” position, the electric motor will start immediately after the car engine is started;

  • Problem with the sensor. In a situation where the electric motor of the radiator cooling fan began to turn on early, most often the temperature sensor is to blame. In such a situation, it should be replaced;. If the radiator cooling fan is not equipped with a separate sensor to monitor the temperature, it will be guided by the general indicator. When the thermostat jams and prevents the coolant from going into a “large” circle, it quickly overheats and the electric fan drive turns on. Since the liquid does not get to the radiator, the fan runs “idle” and the temperature of the coolant will not decrease, which will lead to rapid overheating of the engine. It is also possible for the thermostat to jam in an intermediate position which will not allow sufficient cooling of the fluid, resulting in constant fan operation.

It is worth noting that the constant operation of the cooling fan is not as dangerous as its complete failure, but only not in the situation when the problem is related to the jammed thermostat and overheating of the motor.

The design and principle of operation of electromechanical sensor with wax

This is the most common type of sensors to activate the fan. The basis of the sensor is a container filled with petroleum wax (ceresite, consists mostly of paraffin) with an admixture of copper powder. The wax tank is closed by a flexible membrane, on which there is a pusher connected to the moving contact drive mechanism. The contact drive can be direct (with the same pusher) or indirect, with a lever and spring (in this case a more reliable engagement and disengagement of the circuit is achieved). All parts are enclosed in a thick-walled metal casing (this provides for more uniform heating of the working body) with a thread and an electrical connector.

The principle of operation of such a sensor is based on the effect of changing the volume of the working body when the temperature changes (it is also used in car thermostats). The wax, which plays the role of the working substance in the sensor, has a high coefficient of thermal expansion, when heated it expands and is displaced from the container. Expanding wax rests on the diaphragm and forces it upwards, which in turn moves the pusher and closes the contacts the fan turns on. When the temperature drops, the membrane lowers and the contacts open, the fan turns off.

In the two-speed sensor uses, respectively, two membranes and two sliding contacts, which are triggered at different temperature intervals.

the sensor is mounted on the cooling radiator (via the gasket), its working part is in direct contact with the cooling liquid from which the working body is heated. Usually there is one fan sensor on the car, but today you can find solutions with two single-speed sensors set to different temperatures.

Fan sensor Datsun (Datsun) thermosensitive element, enclosed in copper alloy casing. This metal is able to conduct heat and cool quickly. It is planned to install the sensor in the lower or upper part of the radiator and it directly depends on the Datsun car model (Datsun).

Before replacing the sensor of the fan it is necessary to check its functionality. If in operating mode there is no signal to turn on the fan requires replacement.

ECU for the fan sensor Datsun (Datsun)

In modern systems, information is transmitted to the ECU about the temperature maintenance of the engine. It is very important that the fan sensor works properly. In injector systems the fan sensor failure means that the system continues to work in emergency mode.

Selection of the fan sensor Datsun (Datsun) must take into account all parameters. Mechanical sensors are simple in design. When heats up considerably deformation can occur and the plate loses its shape. The contacts in the power supply system can be short-circuited. Possibly, the sensor doesn’t function because of the wires breakage. The relay controls the movement of the fan, and the sensor must be replaced if this does not happen.

Check the sensor Datsun (Datsun) when the motor overheats:

  • Check the work of wiring system and relay
  • Check the sensor gland with a special method of temperature control
  • Installation of a new fan sensor is required if damaged

Troubleshooting Datsun blower sensor (Datsun)

  • Cooling fan does not turn on or works irregularly.
  • The fan does not turn off and the operation is constant.
  • The fan turns on and then turns off with the control lamp illuminated.

Depending on the design sensor replacement takes only 30 minutes with a check of the coolant level.

On your own it is possible to replace the fan sensor of the car Datsun (Datsun), but addressing an experienced specialist of the automotive engineering center is the most correct decision. With a minor error, replacing the sensor can turn into a contingency and additional repairs. It is necessary to use quality auto service center, where they will replace the sensor and check its functions.

In a situation when a Datsun (Datsun) cooling sensor malfunctions in an open area on the road, to avoid overheating of the engine, it is necessary to short circuit the wires and isolate them.

How to detect a defect of the electric heater motor (heater fan)

The design of the heating system on “Ten” fundamentally different from what was on the older models of VAZ. The most important feature and difference between cabin heater, is that the heater radiator VAZ 2110 and its fannahoditsya not in the cabin, and in the engine compartment. This design has its own advantages, for example to replace the heater radiator or heater fan does not need to completely disassemble the front panel (the torpedo).

Another important difference is the electronic control of climate processes in the cabin. There is a so-called automatic heater control system (SAUO) on VAZ 2110.

SAUO block on VAZ 210 of different year of release are different. Since 1996 year 4 types of SAUO controller were produced. It is worth bearing this in mind when buying a unit as a spare. It is this device and controls the temperature in the cabin and the work of the fan. You can set the temperature from 16 to 28 degrees.

Dear customer, to avoid mistakes when sending the automatic heater control system (ACS), in the “Comment” line indicate the model of your car, year of manufacture.

The heater fan does not turn on. To understand very simply: when the car is running, turn on the heater on speed. If there is no additional noise, then the fan doesn’t turn on. It is necessary to note at once:

-for VAZ 2110-2112 and their modifications and their modifications made before 2003., if the fan only works in one position 2, an additional resistor burned on the heater housing, which allows you to adjust the speed through it in position A and 1 connects the fan.

The main reasons why the heater fan does not work

The fuse blows. the easiest and at the same time the most unpleasant fault, because it is very easy to replace the fuse, and at the same time, we do not know the reason why it burned out.

If the fuse blows, it means there is a short circuit. In this case, you need to look all over the fuse chain and look for the source of short circuit.

F7 fuse with 30A amperage is fixed behind the heater. This fuse is also responsible for cigarette lighter, headlight washer motor, glove box illumination, heated rear window. So, if the fuse is blown, in addition to the heater fan, the above-mentioned electric elements of the car will not work.

Bad contact in the installation unit. Bad or oxidized contact in the assembly block is also widespread disease. In this case you need to move the harness block, going to the installation block.

Ignition relay is stuck. If you, the heater turns on only when it is warm, then the problem is in the ignition relay. Of course, it is amazing how the ignition relay affects the operation of the heater, but the fact remains the fact. You need to replace the relay. By the way it is located under the instrument panel in the center console.

For VAZ 2108 21099; 2113-2115 and their modifications

4.1. The heater switches on only on 3 position of a switch. If you encounter this situation, you will need to replace the additional resistor. The thing is that on positions 1 and 2 of the heater switch, the current to the fan goes through the additional resistor, and on position 3 it goes directly to the fan. Therefore, the conclusion should be that the supplementary resistor is defective.

4.2. heater switch does not work. To check the position switch, you need a regular 12 volt clearance lamp with two soldered wires. Take off central console of instrument panel, to get access to heater switch: switch on ignition; connect negative wire of light bulb to body mass and connect another one to outputs 1-2-3 to resistor (grey, white and red wire). usually). If the bulb lights up then the switch works, if it does not light up then connect the bulb to the plus wire of the position switch. If the light is not on, then somewhere open circuit or blown fuse.

For VAZ 2110 2112 and their modifications made before 2003.

5.1. heater turns on only in one position 2, on the body of the heater burned out an additional resistor that allows you to adjust the speed. at “A” and “1” position the fan is connected. In that case get to the heater (it is possible only from the engine compartment) and replace the resistor.

5.2. interior temperature sensor is defective. Heater operation algorithm should be as follows: at maximum (red dot). movement on the flap opening; on the minimum (blue point). movement to close the flap, the other positions are fixed depending on the temperature setting by the temperature sensor in the passenger compartment. To see if the flap moves, it is better to remove front deflectors, they have two plastic latches on the right and left (careful, do not tear wire of illumination when removing). After removing the baffles, it is perfectly visible if the damper is moving or not, i.e.е. air goes through the heater or not. Also check the resistance of the cabin temperature sensor.

5.3. The wires inside the controller are burned (to fix it you need to disassemble the controller and replace them). Remove the controller from the socket. Turn the ignition on, turn the temperature knob and measure the voltage on the pink and brown wire (the long connector on the controller). If the voltage changes (must turn on after changing the temperature knob position and turn off after about 13 seconds) the controller is defective, if not. you need to change the controller.

Cooling fan turns on when the engine is cold: main causes and solution

It is known that various malfunctions of the engine cooling system do not allow the engine to reach an optimal temperature regime. The engine may overheat, which can cause fast damage, or remain cold, i.e. do not reach operating temperature.

Modern cars use combined engine cooling system: liquid and air cooling. Under the liquid should be understood the circulation of antifreeze or toluene in special channels in the cylinder block and cylinder head of the engine.

The coolant circulates thanks to the pump (pump). For additional cooling, the coolant can also circulate in a small circle (inside the engine) and in a large circle, that is, through the radiator.

The air cooling is provided by a fan that removes excess heat by blowing air into the under-hood to cool the motor. The specified fan is engaged in the case when the heating of the unit is high enough. However, quite often drivers are faced with the question of why the cooling fan turns on when the engine is cold, the engine fan is triggered in winter or is constantly spinning. In this article, we will talk about the reasons why the cooling fan runs on a cold engine, the engine cooling fan does not turn off or the specified fan does not work properly.

The fan runs on a cold motor: causes, diagnosis, repair

To begin with, the above problem can clearly indicate both a malfunction of the liquid cooling system, and the fan itself malfunctions. In any case it is a breakage, which cannot be ignored, because the risk of overheating of the air conditioner is considerably increased.

datsun, on-do, does, turn

Datsun On-Do. неровный холостой ход.

For better understanding it is necessary to consider superficially a principle of activation of the fan on most modern cars. The air is blown by a special sensor located at the bottom of the radiator. Also many cars use a separate control unit for the engine cooling fan. There are also models, where the ECU itself is responsible for turning on the fan, but this design is rarely used.

So, after the coolant temperature is heated to an average of about 100 degrees Celsius, the sensor or control unit closes the circuit. After that the fan is switched on, improving the engine cooling. When the coolant temperature drops to the required value, the circuit is opened and the air circulation stops. As can be seen, the fan does not work when the engine is cold. So, to determine why the fan is turning on early, for injector cars with a diagnostic connector OBD II, it is recommended to start with the computer diagnostics of the car. The matter is that the possibility to read out of ECU error codes allows to define more exactly a reason of malfunction.

Also note that in cases where the control unit detects errors in the cooling system, the fan may spin immediately after turning on the ignition, even in a cold engine. This feature is found only on some models and is, in fact, a protection against overheating of the power unit, since the constantly running fan reduces the temperature.

After repair in this case you will also need to perform error resetting. To erase the error from the ECU, on some models, it is enough to remove the terminal from the battery for a couple of minutes, while on other models the resetting is done with the diagnostic equipment.

Common cooling fan problems

Now let’s look at the frequent problems that are related to the cooling system and the fan itself.

First of all, in many cases there is a short circuit of contacts of the sensor of the air system. In this case, the blower actuates immediately after turning on the ignition. In the process of diagnostics on the cold sensor the resistance on the outputs is measured with a multimeter. The deviations from the norm will indicate the necessity to replace the element.

There is not enough coolant in the liquid system. In this case, the fan triggers due to the fact that a small amount of antifreeze or heating-water very quickly heats up. In other words, the fan is working properly and starts naturally. As a rule, the leaks or decrease of coolant level in the expansion tank are the main reason. Note, the antifreeze is a mixture of concentrate and water. The water will gradually evaporate from the system and the level will drop as a result. This is why it is recommended that the fluid is checked and topped up periodically at specific intervals.

If there is too little coolant in the system, it heats up quickly. It is also noteworthy that the real temperature of the fluid is very different from the internal temperature of the engine. It often happens that a cold engine is started, the temperature gauge on the dashboard has not yet risen, and the fan has already triggered because the liquid is too hot. To solve the problem it will be enough to fill the antifreeze, remove airlocks from the cooling system. The fan short-circuits to the ground, because the wire may not be screwed tightly enough, there was a destruction of the contact, etc.п. The fan in this case may short-circuit the battery and work nonstop. In this situation you need to check all contacts, wiring, and other elements. Wires should be securely insulated and properly connected.

The sensor of the fan, which is integrated into the thermostat housing, is broken. Quite a few modern machines are designed with a thermostat that is combined with a fan control sensor. Such a solution allows for flexible management of the engine cooling system. But if there is a problem with the temperature sensor in the thermostat housing the fan can start without turning off. The problem is that the control unit starts to receive incorrect signals about how the thermostat works. This will activate the emergency mode, the fan will start and run continuously.

In such situation it is necessary to check the sensor with a multimeter. In a normal cold engine its resistance is infinite, in other cases the value should be 100. 500 ohms. Deviations from normal values will indicate that the sensor should be replaced with a new or known to be in good condition.

Outside air temperature sensor malfunctioned. This problem is encountered on some vehicles which are equipped with ambient air temperature sensors. If the temperature is above the permissible limit, then these sensors activate the fan. This solution allows more efficient cooling of the power unit, especially in cars that have a powerful forced combustion engine and several radiators. On these units, the fan can be turned on during the warm season, even when the engine is cold, to protect the engine from overheating.

After turning on automobile conditioner, the fan constantly works. It is necessary to note, that on some models such fan work is a norm. If we talk about malfunctions, on most modern cars, the cooling system is closely connected with the climate system. Exactly for this reason, contamination of air conditioner radiator can lead to the fact that the engine cooling fan will work constantly at maximum revolutions. To solve the problem you may need an external cleaning of the air conditioner radiator and cooling system radiator. The matter is that these radiators are next to each other, and between them there is a lot of dust and a puff. Removal of such “coat” allows to normalize operation of the air conditioning system and engine cooling system, get rid of frequent switching on of the fan and increased noise during its work.

Problems with wiring and electrical contacts. Despite the way the fan control is implemented, contacts are a frequent cause of malfunction. Oxidized or damaged contacts, loose connections and other faults lead to shorts, faulty signals to control units, etc.п. This leads to overheating protection by keeping the fan constantly turning, etc.д. To avoid this situation, experienced drivers recommend cleaning the contacts before winter and summer to prevent. Also actively practiced the treatment of special greases and protective compounds.

TOTAL As is evident, the internal combustion engine itself and its systems require regular maintenance. As for the cooling system, it is also no exception and requires a lot of attention.

Overheating engine steam from the radiator tubesRecommend also to read the article about what the most frequent malfunctions are typical for the cooling system of the car engine. From this article you will learn about the main causes of incorrect operation and possible breakdowns of this system. If the driver noticed that the cooling fan began to run at maximum speed all the time or stopped turning off on time, then the first thing to do is to check the antifreeze level, the efficiency of the pump and thermostat.

Also it is necessary to take into account that such fan operation can be caused by the cooling radiator clogging or too high temperature of outside air, contacts short circuit, etc.д. Do not forget that the fan can constantly turn on the cold engine when the air conditioner is running.

Why the cooling fan of the engine does not work

When the engine is running, the temperature in the combustion chambers reaches about 1500-2000 degrees Celsius. If you do not take the heat away from the walls of the cylinders, overheating of the engine is inevitable, and as a consequence, a costly repair or replacement.

A cooling system is provided to maintain the engine operating temperature (90 degrees) in all operating conditions. It includes the following elements:

Radiator; Expansion tank; Pump; Thermostat; Fan; Temperature and fan activation sensors; A set of connecting hoses; Heater radiator; Antifreeze.

While the thermostat is closed, the working fluid circulates in a so-called small circle with the help of the pump, cooling the cylinder block and head and diverting some of the heat energy. When the thermostat is opened, the coolant flows in a large circle to the radiator.

The radiator surface is blown with the flow of oncoming air while driving, which lowers the temperature of the working fluid. The radiator, however, is not able to prevent the fluid from overheating, e.g. when the car is stopped in traffic jams or driven for a long time at low speed.

To help the radiator, a fan is built into the cooling system of the power unit, being one of its main executing elements, and its failure may cause a number of undesirable problems.

How the fan works

In older cars the fan was forced, that is, worked always as long as the engine is running, by the drive belt. The fan itself was usually mounted on the pump pulley, connected to the alternator pulley with a belt.

Most modern cars use electric fan or drive with a viscous clutch (viscous clutch), where it occurs automatically from the trigger sensor (calibrated separately for each engine).

The fan is a simple 12V electric motor that runs from the car’s mains. An impeller is mounted on its shaft to create a flow of air directed at the radiator honeycomb. The fan itself has a mounting frame to connect it to the radiator.

For its operation, in its turn, is responsible sensor switching, located in one of the tanks of the radiator. It is installed in the gap of fan motor power supply wires.

Cooling fan on

The sensor on the fan is programmed to a certain temperature limit at which it triggers its contacts, sending power to the relay, which closes the fan power circuit, and it begins to work.

The fan on these machines is switched on through the control unit. The controller receives data from the sensor and transmits it to the motor starting relay.

Possible causes of fan failure

In cases where the temperature of the antifreeze suddenly went up, and the fan on the radiator did not work, then, therefore, where the problem appeared. The vehicle must be stopped and the fault must be corrected to prevent overheating and to save the engine from costly repairs.

Faults

Open or short circuit in motor circuit;

Poor contact in the connection or oxidation of contacts in the fan circuit;

The safety valve in the expansion tank is defective.

Datsun ON-do. Япония уже не та1 Часть. Ошибка датчика коленвала.

Check

On motors with an injector sensor is disabled by removing the connector from it, the motor starts and if the fan worked (ECU “will understand” that the system malfunction and the fan will turn on in the emergency mode), the sensor is faulty and you need to replace it.

The valve keeps the system pressurized above atmospheric pressure, preventing the water in the service fluid from boiling when it reaches 100 degrees. If the valve is defective, the pressure is equalized with the atmospheric pressure and the liquid will boil already at 100 degrees.

The sensor itself is triggered at a temperature of 105-107 degrees Celsius. The fluid is boiling but the fan has not yet actuated. Cap with valve needs to be replaced.

A few tips

Periodically monitor the coolant temperature and check the fan when it enters the danger zone on the gauge;

Check liquid level in tank and replenish if necessary;

Check the system for possible fluid leakage;

If it exceeds the operating temperature, stop, find and fix the cause;

Seasonally, make it a habit to flush the expansion tank cap under water pressure, which will help keep the relief valve clean;

On motors where the fan is forced, periodically check the tension of the fan drive belt.

The cooling fan of LADA Granta always works, what to do?

Car: LADA Granta. Question: Igor.

Hi all. This is my first breakdown, or maybe not a breakdown, I don’t know. I need to ask you a question. As soon as I start the car engine, the cooling fan operates immediately. Even when the engine is cold. I think it is not okay.

Yesterday I came home, the temperature of the engine dashboard shows 80, but the fan is spinning. What is the working temperature of the engine on Granta, is it really 80 degrees??

I had something similar in my VAZ-2115. There, the fan was on while driving, and did not turn off. But I had an on-board computer Stat, and there was an item to reset the ECU. After pressing this button, the rpm would jerk, then level off, and the cooling fan would turn off.
